Purpose

Compare material-machine combinations using replaceable wear coupons, controlled restrictions, and captured outlet patterns.

Operating concept

A short instrumented loop circulates measured slurry through test coupons and interchangeable outlets into a pattern wall/catch grid; differential pressure and mass loss quantify changes.

Key assemblies

slurry reservoir; test pump; wear-coupon holder; restriction/clog test spool; interchangeable nozzle mount; pattern grid/catch pans; high- speed/thermal imaging as approved; recovery tank

Operating sequence

characterize material → weigh/measure coupons → run water reference → run bounded slurry cycles → record pressure/pattern → recover all output → clean, remeasure, and inspect

Instrumentation

calibration state; time-synchronized data; mode and alarm history; operator acknowledgment

Safeguards

sensor failure must not defeat mechanical protection; preserve raw data; separate research controls from deployment authority

Failure modes and mitigations

coupon failure; projected debris; pressurized clearing; measurement bias; erosive leakage

Variants

coupon wheel; elbow-wear rig; hose-liner loop; nozzle pattern wall; automated cycle bench

Validation gates

calibration check; fault-injection test; data-integrity review; qualified protocol approval

Claim boundary

CLAIM BOUNDARY: No certified design, validated recipe, performance guarantee, regulatory approval, or authorization for uncontrolled-fire use is represented.

Unverified concept for qualified research. Not certified equipment, not a validated formula, not fabrication instructions, and not authorization for active-fire use. Individual conventional components are not claimed as separately invented.
