Instrumented Comparative Fire-Test Rig

Controls, interfaces, and test systemsLocal and prepared materialQualified fire facility only
Instrument lineLog variablesWater-only comparisonReport resultSCHEMATIC PROCESS ORDER — NOT TO SCALEWater-only comparison and failover retained throughout.

Purpose

Compare water alone with one documented Sedi-Slurry candidate under qualified, repeatable, contained fire-test conditions.

Operating concept

A qualified facility uses matched fuel packages or ember beds, identical delivery geometry, thermal and combustion instrumentation, runoff capture, randomized treatment order, and predefined stop conditions.

Key assemblies

qualified fire enclosure or pad; matched fuel fixtures; fixed applicator mount; water/slurry selector outside hazard zone; thermocouples/thermal imaging; mass/heat-release proxy as available; runoff capture; emergency suppression

Operating sequence

approve protocol and hazards → prepare matched controls → ignite repeatably → apply assigned treatment → measure cooling/flame/ember/reignition → terminate safely → recover residues and publish limitations

Instrumentation

calibration state; time-synchronized data; mode and alarm history; operator acknowledgment

Safeguards

sensor failure must not defeat mechanical protection; preserve raw data; separate research controls from deployment authority

Failure modes and mitigations

uncontrolled fire growth; steam/splash; confounded fuels; insufficient replication; misrepresentation of limited results

Variants

ember-bed calorimetry; small crib test; vegetation-coupon test; surface-coating ignition test; mop-up/reignition test

Validation gates

calibration check; fault-injection test; data-integrity review; qualified protocol approval

Claim boundary

CLAIM BOUNDARY: No certified design, validated recipe, performance guarantee, regulatory approval, or authorization for uncontrolled-fire use is represented.

Unverified concept for qualified research. Not certified equipment, not a validated formula, not fabrication instructions, and not authorization for active-fire use. Individual conventional components are not claimed as separately invented.
