Purpose

Create a removable measurement section for water and slurry lines so flow, pressure, temperature, density proxy, and differential pressure can be compared.

Operating concept

A straight spool with flush-mounted or isolated sensors, upstream/downstream pressure taps, sample valves, and a cleanable geometry installs only in a rated test loop.

Key assemblies

rated spool body; pressure taps; flowmeter selected for slurry research; temperature sensors; density/attenuation proxy; sample valve; differential-pressure ports; flush manifold

Operating sequence

calibrate on water → install in rated loop → zero sensors → run water baseline → measure characterized slurry → take physical sample → flush and inspect drift

Instrumentation

calibration state; time-synchronized data; mode and alarm history; operator acknowledgment

Safeguards

sensor failure must not defeat mechanical protection; preserve raw data; separate research controls from deployment authority

Failure modes and mitigations

sensor fouling; false readings; pressure tap clog; unrated installation; data/time mismatch

Variants

small bench spool; large-line spool; clamp-on auxiliary sensors; transparent low-pressure visualization section; portable calibration loop

Validation gates

calibration check; fault-injection test; data-integrity review; qualified protocol approval

Claim boundary

CLAIM BOUNDARY: No certified design, validated recipe, performance guarantee, regulatory approval, or authorization for uncontrolled-fire use is represented.

Unverified concept for qualified research. Not certified equipment, not a validated formula, not fabrication instructions, and not authorization for active-fire use. Individual conventional components are not claimed as separately invented.
