Reverse-Flush and Line-Pigging Station
Purpose
Remove settled material from approved large-bore test lines by reverse flow or a fully captured soft cleaning projectile, without treating pigging as universally compatible.
Operating concept
A reversible connection manifold or guarded pig launcher/receiver works only on a purpose-designed isolated line with positive capture and depressurization.
Key assemblies
reversible manifold; isolation valves; depressurization ports; soft pig launcher; positive receiver/cage; position indication; capture tank; access interlocks
Operating sequence
confirm line is designed for method → isolate/depressurize → configure reverse flow or soft pig → close/guard receiver → advance under bounded pressure → confirm capture → open only after zero energy
Instrumentation
process temperature or recovery level; flow; containment status; stop condition
Safeguards
contained research only where stated; prevent uncontrolled discharge; define waste and recovery route
Failure modes and mitigations
projectile hazard; trapped pressure; pig stuck in line; wrong line geometry; uncontained discharge
Variants
reverse-water-only flush; foam pig; brush-free soft pig; mechanical rodding port for unpressurized bench line
Validation gates
contained bench trial; thermal/material compatibility; recovery efficiency; environmental disposition review
Claim boundary
CLAIM BOUNDARY: No certified design, validated recipe, performance guarantee, regulatory approval, or authorization for uncontrolled-fire use is represented.
Unverified concept for qualified research. Not certified equipment, not a validated formula, not fabrication instructions, and not authorization for active-fire use. Individual conventional components are not claimed as separately invented.
