Thermal Reservoir and Insulated Transfer System
Purpose
Hold a temperature-managed test medium long enough to measure heat gain, settling, and delivery effects before any fire comparison.
Operating concept
An insulated, agitated reservoir and insulated short transfer line track temperature at multiple points and prevent misleading assumptions about outlet temperature.
Key assemblies
insulated tank; gentle agitator; multi-depth temperature probes; insulated hose; heat-trace disabled/controlled as appropriate; sample port; recirculation; drain/recovery
Operating sequence
prepare characterized batch → condition temperature → hold for defined period → measure stratification → transfer through short loop → measure outlet condition → recover batch
Instrumentation
process temperature or recovery level; flow; containment status; stop condition
Safeguards
contained research only where stated; prevent uncontrolled discharge; define waste and recovery route
Failure modes and mitigations
temperature stratification; settling; hose heat gain; frozen valves; excess system weight
Variants
laboratory Dewar-style vessel; jacketed tote; refrigerated trailer tank; short insulated hose reel
Validation gates
contained bench trial; thermal/material compatibility; recovery efficiency; environmental disposition review
Claim boundary
CLAIM BOUNDARY: No certified design, validated recipe, performance guarantee, regulatory approval, or authorization for uncontrolled-fire use is represented.
Unverified concept for qualified research. Not certified equipment, not a validated formula, not fabrication instructions, and not authorization for active-fire use. Individual conventional components are not claimed as separately invented.
