Purpose

Evaluate sensor-guided placement of very small contained samples in a closed or netted research environment, not wildfire deployment.

Operating concept

A tethered or confined unmanned aircraft carries a minimal liquid payload and releases into a catch basin or test coupon under independent containment and emergency termination.

Key assemblies

confined/tethered UAS; small sealed reservoir; low-flow valve; weight sensor; camera; geofence; independent kill; full catch basin

Operating sequence

approve indoor/confined protocol → load inert or authorized sample → verify weight and tether → hover over containment → release measured sample → land immediately → recover all material

Instrumentation

process temperature or recovery level; flow; containment status; stop condition

Safeguards

contained research only where stated; prevent uncontrolled discharge; define waste and recovery route

Failure modes and mitigations

rotor injury; loss of control; payload release; battery fire; misuse as an operational aerial system

Variants

tethered quadrotor; overhead gantry simulator; cable-suspended drop head; ground robot substitute

Validation gates

contained bench trial; thermal/material compatibility; recovery efficiency; environmental disposition review

Claim boundary

CLAIM BOUNDARY: No certified design, validated recipe, performance guarantee, regulatory approval, or authorization for uncontrolled-fire use is represented.

Unverified concept for qualified research. Not certified equipment, not a validated formula, not fabrication instructions, and not authorization for active-fire use. Individual conventional components are not claimed as separately invented.
