Tow-Behind Linear Soil Harvester

Material acquisitionLocal and prepared materialTow-behind
Document sourceCollect / receiveReject debrisScreened receiverSCHEMATIC PROCESS ORDER — NOT TO SCALEWater-only comparison and failover retained throughout.

Purpose

Collect a wider, shallow strip of suitable local mineral material behind a UTV, tractor, or purpose-built test carrier.

Operating concept

A guarded rotary, chain, or shallow scarifying head loosens material into a cross-auger or belt that feeds a central screened receiver without requiring the towing vehicle to process solids through its own pump.

Key assemblies

tow frame and articulation; depth-limited collection head; cross conveyor; scalping grate; receiver hopper; load sensor; lift/transport lock; remote emergency stop

Operating sequence

survey and approve collection strip → lower depth-limited head → loosen and convey material → reject oversize → accumulate in receiver → transfer to separate conditioner → raise and lock for transport

Instrumentation

material-source record; feed-rate indication; jam/overload status

Safeguards

guard exposed motion; reject debris before metering; provide emergency stop and lockout points

Failure modes and mitigations

tow instability; buried-object strike; excessive soil disturbance; conveyor entanglement; overloaded receiver

Variants

rotary tine; chain trencher; flail pickup; belt windrow pickup; three- point-hitch research attachment

Validation gates

source documentation; debris and contamination screening; guarding/stability review; repeatable feed trial

Claim boundary

CLAIM BOUNDARY: No certified design, validated recipe, performance guarantee, regulatory approval, or authorization for uncontrolled-fire use is represented.

Unverified concept for qualified research. Not certified equipment, not a validated formula, not fabrication instructions, and not authorization for active-fire use. Individual conventional components are not claimed as separately invented.
